About PSiDAH
With Primary Sources in Danish Art History, the New Carlsberg Foundations makes source material on Danish art history accessible to a wider audience and secures it for posterity.
The source material mainly consists of letters, journals, notebooks and other types of written records but also includes photographs, film and audio recordings. The material is digitized and, as much as possible, transcribed and annotated to make it more accessible. All the projects have a specific focus, for example an artist’s body of work, an artist group or a body of writings on art history. They are managed by qualified researchers with expertise in the arts, usually in collaboration with a Danish art institution. The source material will be uploaded here, on ktdk.dk, an activity under the New Carlsberg Foundation.
Primary Sources in Danish Art History is a living archive that develops as new projects are added. The hope is that, together, the many individual source projects will provide a deeper knowledge and a broader understanding of Danish art history.
